Visiting the Site.

So while we were on our 2 week vacation in NY, we decided to stop and see Ruthie's grave sitefor the first time. Since we are military, living in FL, we decided to have her buried in Calverton National Cemetary on Long Island where our family lives. I am not a routine grave visitor, I get little comfort from going, but I didn't want to give guilt a foothold when we got back to FL, knowing there was no way we could fix it if we decided we had made the wrong decision. I am glad we went because it forced us to deal with some emotions that in the business of life (baby, vacation, deployments) we had maybe pushed to the side.

I don't want to make a big thing of this post, but we hadn't been able to see her stone in person and so we packed up our earthly kids, to make a trip to remember our eternal one. These photos journal our time there.

Our children, earthly and eternal, in order of birth

We each had a yellow rose to leave there as remembrance and joy for our daughter/sister
Justus took this picture

We also had yellow daffodils to add some color and life to the barren winter ground, reminding us that while she is not here, she is alive in Christ in heaven.

Ruthie we miss you every day we have to live without you, but because of Jesus' glorious inheritance that we have been adopted into, we will sing, dance, rejoice, and be united in heaven. Love You Ruthie-Mac
